The Approach
“The one thing that you can change is how you treat yourself, and that one thing can change everything.”

Grounded Connection’s Approach
Our approach in therapy is collaborative and grounded in acceptance, truthfulness, openness, and humour. I am of the belief that the work we do is grounded in the relationship that we build together in therapy and should align with your resilience and uniqueness. It’s true that we can’t help but be shaped by our relationships and experiences, especially ones resulting from our childhood, which means that current patterns of behaviour and emotions can originate from our past. We can also find ways to help you cope and uncover the connection between your past and present experiences.
I will always tailor my approach to my clients needs and wants. I have a solid foundation in a variety of proven theoretical approaches and will consider this when developing the best way to incorporate them. I promise to always give you my full attention, to be a good listener, to provide a safe place to express yourself, and use my knowledge and experience to give you as much support as I can. I might offer you a different perspective, I may challenge you in a supportive way and I may suggest various strategies so you can start to make the changes you want.
